Put to the sword, 2016 Bronze, Copper mesh curtain, Variable dimension
Put to the Sword investigates the narratives of horror and ill-ease by incorporating aspects of sculpture and exhibition design. Central to the exhibition is a bronze-cast of a severed head, developed from a mask sourced on the internet. Reflecting upon the material processes and online transactions that led to the production of the head, this installation draws equivalence to the archaeological discovery of beheaded ‘bog bodies’ dating back to 8000 BCE, thought to be the victims of tribal warfare or ritual sacrifice
